Flight Operations Specialist I

As a Flight Operations Specialist I on our Remote Operations Team, you will be remotely piloting drones from our Remote Operations Center in Burton, MI. Our Remote Operations Team captures high-quality data and monitors millions of dollars in assets for our commercial and industrial security customers throughout the United States. This role requires that you be based in or are willing to commute to Burton, MI and that you hold a current 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. Our customers demand the very best and this role will require rigorous attention to detail, documentation, and a general understanding of technology.

The job location for this role is in Burton, Michigan. This job cannot be performed remotely.

The work hours for this role are 3rd shift, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Responsibilities

  • Execute aerial data collection missions following FAA Part 107 regulations
  • Remotely conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections of drone equipment
  • Ensure the safe operation of drones in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations and company safety protocols
  • Collaborate with team members to capture potential security breaches
  • Maintain detailed records of flight operations and any incidents recorded
  • Troubleshoot and resolve and technical issues that may arise during flights
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Experience

  • A current FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required
    • If candidate does not possess a current Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, he or she must obtain within 14 days of hire
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and safety procedures
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, and Apple iOS/iPadOS operating systems
  • Experience in Google Workspace (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Drive), Microsoft Office, Slack
  • Experience in Google Chrome, including troubleshooting of web-based applications operated via web browser
  • Experience with drone technology
  • Experience with remotely operated drones, including docked drones is preferred but not required
